WELCOME to The Egyptian Scientific Foundation Of Rare Diseases In Children Care for the Rare .

A disease is considered rare when it affects fewer than 1 in 2,000 of the population. Their numbers vary between 5,000 and 8,000 diseases and they are variable in different regions of the world. Globally rare diseases affect around 6% of the population worldwide with a minimum prevalence of 3.5–5.9%. Most clinicians are unlikely to have experience with recognizing or managing the vast majority of rare diseases. Diagnosis is often delayed or wrong, and optimal clinical management is seldom achieved.Our mission is to raise awareness among pediatricians to the rare diseases among Egyptian children aiming for early diagnosis and hence early treatment and ensure proper medical care and health of our children.
